Escape Room Rating: 85%
"It is 1928, the peak of the Prohibition era. Your bootlegger gang is trying to secure a reliable booze supplier. However, the much more powerful and influential gang of Al “Scarface” Capone has managed to get a hold of all the local suppliers and they will not disclose their contacts. You have inside information that Capone and his gang have left for 60 minutes. You must gain access to his infamous Speakeasy Bar and steal the list of suppliers before they return or you’ll swim with the fishes."
Prohibition thrives on theming, something Beat The Room consistently delivers on. The little details pop out in this room. All of the clues / pieces / puzzles are perfectly woven into the theme—wine bottles, cigars, darts, old school cars, and liquor, they're all here. Beat The Room has again created an awesome clue delivery system that's works as part of the set design; there are no walkie talkies to be found. While the other two rooms in their Vacaville location are at least somewhat related to the Rocklin location, Prohibition is a pleasant Vacaville exclusive.
As with other Beat The Room locations, this room does a good job of splitting the difference between advanced escapers—who can attempt to make it on the leader board, and newer escapers. As a final note—there's a little hidden easter egg in this room, if you don't find it during gameplay, make sure to ask your game master.
