Midnight On The Bayou
Escape Room Rating: 85%
"You haven’t set foot in Bayou High since graduation, but this carnival-themed reunion sounded fun. Though it is a little strange they’re holding the event on the old Boudreau property at the edge of the swamp, where decades ago several students died in a barn fire. And it is odd that all the carnival workers are mysteriously absent, with the exception of your reunion host who keeps nervously glancing at that creepy old chest…"
Red Lantern Escape Rooms debut room hits the mark with a unique theme and intricate story line. They created 5 elaborate character arcs to fit in to the overall story of the room. Without missing any details, this room transports from California to Louisiana. More of an objective style room than an escape room, it requires the team to divide and conquer to complete the different goals before time runs out. Similar to the best escape rooms, this room checks all the must haves; over the top decor, puzzles without locks, and unexpected surprises along the way.
Pay attention to the magician in the room. He says he doesn't know anything but may nudge your team along by placing a candle where you should look next or asking a question to the team. The large space (over 1,000 sq feet!) allows for up to 12 players without feeling cramped inside the room. For everyone to feel like they were involved, 6-8 is our suggestion and would be enough to collectively solve all of the different puzzles. Their second room is currently under construction. It will be fun to see what these gamemakers come up with next!
